There are many aspects to consider prior to you embark on a luxury
African safari. This is exactly the way I went last year, as I realized that
this was the kind of vacation I was looking for to celebrate my one-year
anniversary.
Safaris are available in a variety of dimensions and designs and all safaris
are made equal. This particular post will focus more on the indulgent side of
the safari experience that will delight you from the moment you touch down the
runway that is private until your final encounter with animals you never thought
that you could be so close and personal with.
If you are trying to decide where you should go and when to travel and what
you'd like your safari to look like I hope that this can assist you in making
the best decision for your own Luxury Safari experience.
The type of accommodation
If you're looking for the luxuriousness of a suite with its own private
swimming pool, or the romantic experience of sleeping in a tent at one of the
numerous tented camps - you will be sure of an unforgettable safari experience
at many private lodges across Africa.
Private safari lodges give you close-up views, luxurious accommodation, and
all-inclusive rates.
There is a chance that you hear the word "tented camp" and be thinking that
this type of accommodation may be an improvement from camping, but do not worry.
Tented camps can be a luxurious experience if you find the right one.
While both game-lodge safaris and tentted-camp safaris both offer their own
unique appeal, I would generally recommend an tented-camp safari when you are
only staying for one night. A game lodge is a better option if you only have a
couple of days.
Landscape
When choosing a country for your Tanzania luxury safari, the most popular
destinations are Botswana, Kenya, South Africa and Tanzania.
There are clear differences in the diverse terrains. You'll find vast plains
filled with animals in areas like Kenya or Tanzania. It is more common to see
animals in the bush in South Africa. It's still exciting and thrilling, even if
you think it's boring. The excitement of locating the animal is increased by the
fact that your vehicle driver/guide knows where they are located.
Another thing to consider is whether the lodge is private conservatories or
part of an National Park. Private conservatories provide a more unique
experience since you can get away from the crowds and enjoy the wilderness
without being surrounded by a ton of other vehicles.
Only game-viewing vehicles that belong to lodges located in the reserve or
conservancy are permitted to drive on the land, and frequently, there is a limit
of 3 vehicles per wildlife sighting.
Take a look at the possibility of going to witness the Great Migration in the
Masai Mara and you might be sharing your experience with 50 other vehicles
simultaneously.
The year of the year
From November to July the Great Migration is active at Tanzania's Serengeti
and Kenya's Masai Mara. It's active from August to October.
Botswana can be visited all throughout the year, but it's most popular in
October and September when rainfall is the lowest and the game viewing is at its
finest.
It is best to tour South
Africa during the dry season. It is usually April through September.
Keep in mind that even the most extravagant safari lodges and camps in Africa
will have off seasons or quieter periods. Ask your Travel Advisor about this
difference. You may be able to negotiate a lower price if you book outside the
peak season.
Each person is unique and each has his own thoughts of what a luxury safari ought to look like. It's important to share your dream with the travel professional so that they can help you find the ideal experience. With all the safari's out there, my goal is to help you get rid of the overwhelm and send you off to this adventure that you will remember for the rest of your life.
